Made in Italy… almost (aka Slice of Life)

_SAM3777

Saturday means garage sales and that means… yep, you got it: a shot at redemption for Solid State Kitchen Bling. In this case, an Olympia Model 110 Lusso pasta maker (“la macchina ideale per fare la pasta”). Arianne suggests that this calls for a photo documentary. So be it. Fetch the vino, cue the Louis Prima, crack open that box of addictive little Italian wafer things (thank you, Maverick Mart). Let’s get started, follow the steps by clicking below:

Step 1: Admire the box.
Step 2: Admire the bling in the box.
Clamp! (All very legit)
Step 4: open page at random and pronounce the words. Gesture flamboyantly while doing this.
Step 3: Patiently read all the instructions, or enough of them, whatever, moving on…
Family portrait.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
Less is more (well, more is more actually, especially when it comes to pasta but I think the reference has to do with the beauty of simplicity or something, you know, not cluttering up your life with needless meandering anecdotes and details that merely serve as decoration to the thing you’re trying to say, so “less is more” as they say. Except in pasta, where more is more, like I said.)
Presto! (that’s Italian, it means “soon”!)
In you go…
In you go…
Use proper technique (and look fabulous!)
Repeat the smooosh step as needed
Oooooooh…
Quality control is everything.
Finally, into the pot!

For the sauce, a simple tomato and basil and zukes and shrooms and spinach (which we forgot to add to the pasta dough!) and precisely one, halved meatball (my concoction).

But the test, the real test, is the pasta itself (drumroll please…)

…

…aaand we’re good. Whew, we’re on for pasta. Thank you, Brevattata! Thank you, garage sale. Thank you, Saturday.

As you may have guessed, we like to tell stories with photos. Do you have a story to tell? Contact us to find out how our “Slice-of-life” photography can bring yours to life!
